What truly made our big boy’s soccer extravaganza an unforgettable experience was the mouthwatering lineup of soccer-themed desserts that awaited everyone. In this post, I’ll share all the soccer-themed birthday party desserts we had at our second soccer themed birthday party — all of them homemade, just like for our 1st party.

The Soccer Jersey Cake
The dessert table featured a soccer jersey cake covered in edible fabric. The cake is a moist vanilla cake filled with layers of raspberry cream cheese buttercream and fresh raspberries.
Chocolate Soccer Ball Piñata
The highlight of this soccer-themed dessert bonanza was an edible chocolate soccer ball piñata, this time a gold & black soccer ball. The kids’ cheers and laughter resonated as the birthday boy joyfully broke the piñata and they all collected the sweets that were hiding inside. The kids had a blast with this piñata, just like at our little one’s birthday party! You can find the full tutorial on how to make this Chocolate Soccer Ball Piñata here.
Soccer Ball Cake Pops
I made simple cake pops covered with white chocolate (i.e. melted candy melts) and decorated with black hexagons made out of fondant.
Pull-Apart Soccer Cupcake Cake
This Pull-Apart Soccer Cupcake Cake is the best alternative to a traditional cake for any soccer-themed party. We had this in addition to the soccer jersey cake as I find kids eat cupcakes easier and much faster than a slice of cake at the end. Also, it’s easy to make and a great option for those new to cake/cupcake decorating. You can find the full tutorial on how to make this pull-apart soccer cupcake cake here.
Soccer Ball Cupcakes
And if that’s not enough, cupcakes in the shape of soccer balls, garnished with intricate frosting work, are sure to leave a lasting impression on young soccer stars.
I made these soccer ball cupcakes in a very easy way by placing frosting in this silicone soccer ball ice mold (the bottom/black section), then placing a cupcake on it upside down, and freezing it to safely remove the mold and create soccer ball-shaped cupcakes. You can find the full tutorial on how to make these soccer ball cupcakes here.
