As mentioned in my previous Soccer-Themed Birthday Party posts, this summer we had two parties with this theme for my boys. In this post, I’ll share the soccer-themed party decorations and supplies that we used plus several DIY ideas. These will help you create an exciting and memorable atmosphere for the party. I have also included some free printables and links to free soccer-themed invitations.

Invitations
Purchase or design soccer-themed invitations with soccer balls, jerseys, or even shaped like tickets to a soccer match. Include relevant details like the date, time, location, and any special instructions.
I used two designs from this website to make the invitations for both of our soccer-themed birthday parties.
Soccer-Themed Decorations
Hang soccer ball-shaped balloons or green & white balloons, banners with team logos, and colourful streamers.
You can also create your own pennant banner using coloured paper or fabric in the colours of your child’s favourite soccer team. Cut out triangle shapes and attach them to a string or ribbon. Add numbers or team logos to the pennants to resemble soccer jerseys.
Or, you can make personalized banners using poster board or construction paper. Cut out large soccer ball shapes and write birthday messages or the child’s name using markers or coloured paper. Hang the banners on walls or fences.
Soccer-Themed Party Favors
As a parting gift, give each child a soccer-themed party favor. It could be small soccer balls, keychains, pencil holders, pencils, wristbands etc..
For our first party, I placed all the party favours in an acrylic cake stand. We had soccer-themed slap bracelets, squishy/foam soccer balls as well as tic-tac-toe keychains and some sweets. Kids picked what they liked after we cut the cake.
For our second party, we played a super fun game – the Soccer-themed Mystery String Game. This is a fantastic way to distribute party favors or gifts to the guests. The kids had so much fun playing this game! Check out my other post to see how to set up this game and play it – Soccer-Themed Party Games.
We had the following party favours/gifts: soccer-themed key chains with Neymar, soccer ball pencil holders, Rubik cubes, a lego cup, slap wristband watches, metal yo-yos and 3 mystery prizes (a Tim Hortons gift card, a movie ticket, a bag full of candy).
I tried not to have all party favours with a soccer theme just in case some kids (or girls) were not into soccer.
Soccer-Themed Table Centerpieces, Plates, Cups, Straws, Napkins and Tableware
Cover the party tables with a soccer-themed tablecloth. Or, for a DIY option, you can cover it with green plastic tablecloths to mimic a soccer field. Then, use white duct tape or white electrical tape to create the lines of the soccer field on the tablecloth.
Use soccer-themed centrepieces, paper plates, cups and straws featuring soccer balls, jerseys, or team logos. They add a fun and festive touch to the dining area.
Supplies for Soccer-Themed Games
You might need various supplies (soccer toss game banner, cones etc.) based on the games you’re planning for the party. Have a look at my other post to see lots of soccer-themed game ideas- Soccer-Themed Party Games.
Soccer-Themed Labels for Drinks
You can provide individual water bottles with custom labels featuring a soccer-themed design. I created this design which you can download here for free.
You can also label other drinks or food options. I made labels for the Soccer Sunrise and Soccer Arnold Palmer drinks we had. You can download them from here for free.
You can also find plenty of options to purchase such as these ones.
Soccer Field Backdrop
Set up a soccer field backdrop for a photo booth area. I purchased two backdrops:
- A soccer field backdrop placed on a round backdrop stand. The stand was more expensive but I’m planning to re-use it for other parties too, either for backdrops or for balloon arches.
- A soccer field poster that you can hang or tape to a wall and personalize with your kid’s name and age.
For a DYI option, you can also use green plastic tablecloths or green fabric to create the background. Add white tape or white paper to represent the soccer field lines.
