A soccer-themed birthday party is a fantastic way to celebrate your child’s special day while bringing their love for the beautiful game to life. Both my boys love soccer so, this summer, I’m organizing soccer-themed birthday parties for both of them.
In this post, I’ll share with you a delightful array of finger foods, snacks, and drink ideas that can keep everyone fuelled during the party.

Finger Foods & Snacks
1. Popcorn: Pop some plain popcorn and place it in soccer-themed popcorn boxes. You can also add black and white M&M’s or chocolate-covered candies to represent soccer balls, transforming this classic treat into a soccer-themed delight.
2. Mini Hot Dogs or Sausages: Serve mini hot dogs or cocktail sausages with a variety of condiments like ketchup, mustard, relish, and cheese sauce. We love these mini sausages in oven-baked bread from Costco. You can make them at home too, any “pigs in a blanket” recipe would work.
3. Fruit Balls: Use a melon baller to make watermelon balls or any other type of melon balls. If you don’t have a melon baller, you can use a meat baller or an ice cream scoop to make them. You can scoop out all the flesh out of a watermelon and use it as a bowl to serve the fruit balls in. Or, you can create fruit skewers.
4. Chips or Nachos: Offer chips as a snack option. Chips are a classic and popular snack option that kids enjoy. They are convenient, easy to serve, and provide a satisfying crunch. Or, alternatively, you can set up a nacho bar with tortilla chips, melted cheese, salsa, guacamole, sour cream, and diced tomatoes. Guests can customize their nachos with their preferred toppings.
5. Soccer Field Guacamole Dip: You can make an easy guacamole dip that resembles a soccer field. Spread the guacamole dip evenly on a rectangular serving platter, resembling the shape of a soccer field. Fill a small resealable plastic bag with sour cream and cut a tiny corner off to create a makeshift piping bag. Squeeze the sour cream onto the guacamole to draw the soccer goals at each end of the field and other lines and markings of the soccer field.
Drinks
1. Water Bottles: Keep water bottles readily available for guests to stay hydrated throughout the party. You can provide individual water bottles with custom labels featuring a soccer-themed design. I created this design which you can download here for free.
2. Mocktails: Create non-alcoholic mocktails with a soccer twist. For example, you can make a “Soccer Sunrise” by combining orange juice, pineapple juice, and a splash of grenadine. Garnish with a slice of orange and serve in a tall glass.
3. Iced Tea and Lemonade: Prepare pitchers of iced tea and lemonade for a classic and refreshing drink option. You can even create a “Soccer Arnold Palmer” by mixing equal parts iced tea and lemonade.
You can download the Soccer Sunrise and Soccer Arnold Palmer labels for free from here.
4. Sports Drink Station: Set up a sports drink station with an assortment of flavoured sports drinks. Provide a cooler or ice bucket filled with different sports drink flavours, such as Gatorade, Powerade or the very popular Prime. Since our youngest son just turned 7 we offered the little ones various juice boxes, Nestea and other soft drinks instead of sports drinks. Our older son might get Prime since it’s so popular with kids of his age nowadays.
Add soccer ball ice cubes to your drinks to keep them cold. I made these using this silicone soccer ball ice cube mold (affiliate link).
