I organized a Train Themed Birthday Party for Eric’s first birthday. I made him a Train Cake and a Smash Cake to go with the theme. We had a mix of DIY decorations and store-bought supplies. In this post I will show you some of the Finger Foods, Snacks and Drinks we had. I will also give you some more ideas generated by my new virtual assistant in the kitchen – ChatGPT. You must see how amazing this new Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered tool is and I guarantee you will use it!

We served finger foods and snacks from these cute train cars. I used my kids’ locomotive toy and made the train cars out of small paper/cardboard boxes. You can find these boxes on Amazon or, if you’re in Canada, at Bulk Barn. They are usually used for party snacks, popcorn, candy and gifts.
Then, you can cut the black wheels out of a black piece of paper and glue them onto the boxes. Use some label stickers to label each car as the ‘produce car’, ‘log car’ or ‘coal car’. Instead of stickers, you can also print some free labels from this website and stick them to the boxes with double sided tape.
I placed baby carrots, cauliflower, celery and broccoli in the produce car; sticks (Croco or other brand) in the log car; and, black grapes in the coal car. But you can get creative and add more cars and snacks too. For example, animal crackers in an animal car, blackberries or blueberries in the coal car, popcorn etc.
We had a fuelling station with a ‘water tower’ and a ‘diesel fuel’ tower. The water tower had lemon water in it and the diesel fuel tower had grape juice.
I also made sugar cookies sandwiched with chocolate walnut cream that I typically use for my cakes. If you’ve never had these, you should definitely try them! They are always a big hit at our parties. I used the basic Sugar Cookie Recipe from Sweetopia and cut shapes out with a train engine cookie cutter and a circle one. I also airbrushed a locomotive on some cookies using a locomotive stencil.
ChatGPT – Train Themed Birthday Party Ideas from my New Virtual Assistant in the Kitchen
Below you have more snack, appetizer and drink ideas generated by my new virtual kitchen assistant, ChatGPT.
You might know that cooking and cake decorating are my hobbies and that I work in Technology but what you don’t know is that I’m passionate about Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML). Product management and building AI-powered products have been part of my day-to-day work for several years. So every time I see something new in this field, I get super excited. ChatGPT is a chatbot launched by OpenAI in November 2022. You can get a free account so of course I had to try it out :-). It is shocking how accurate and helpful the responses are, how natural the conversation / dialogue goes, how it can answer follow-up questions. You can ask it anything, really, and you will get a mind-blowing response.
Watch the video below to see ChatGPT in action and all the ideas provided. I also listed all the ideas below.
