The holiday season is synonymous with indulgence and sweet treats and this Ferrero Rocher Christmas Tree is perfect for the occasion. In this post, I’ll show you how to craft a delectable Christmas tree using Ferrero Rocher chocolates. With a touch of creativity and a hint of tape magic, you can create a sweet centrepiece that will leave your guests in awe.
Ingredients/Supplies
- 100 Ferrerro Rocher chocolates
- a 12.4 cm x 30 cm (4.9 in x 11.9 in) styrofoam or recycled plastic cone usually used for crafts & flower arrangements
- plastic wrap/cling film to wrap around the cone
- 1 regular double-sided scotch tape roll + regular heavy-duty scotch tape; or, if available, just 1 double-sided-heavy-duty scotch tape
- 5-6 toothpicks
- a star ornament for the top of the tree; you can also cut this out of a pineapple slice or a cheddar cheese block using a star-shaped cookie cutter
Directions
Watch this video to see how to make the Ferrero Rocher Christmas Tree or read the instructions below.
Begin by placing the styrofoam or recycled plastic cone on your workspace. This cone will serve as the structure for your Ferrero Rocher Christmas tree.
To ensure the cone is food-safe but you also protect the cone (to reuse it for other projects), wrap it securely with plastic wrap or cling film. Ensure full coverage of the cone’s surface.
To easily attach the Ferrero Rocher chocolates to the cone, we’ll create a tape layer. Begin by applying regular double-sided scotch tape in horizontal rows around the cone’s surface.
Over the double-sided tape, place regular heavy-duty scotch tape with the sticky side facing up. This will provide extra adhesion for the chocolates.
Start at the bottom of the cone and attach the Ferrero Rocher chocolates in rows, pressing them onto the tape layer. The chocolates should stick easily due to the tape. Continue adding rows of chocolates as you work your way up the cone. Ensure you place each chocolate on the next row up in between the two chocolates from the bottom later. This will ensure there are no visible gaps exposing the cone underneath.
Continue attaching chocolates in a row pattern until you reach the top of the cone.
For the top row, where space is limited, use toothpicks to secure the chocolates in place. Insert toothpicks into the chocolates and gently push them into the cone to ensure they stay securely positioned.
To complete your Ferrero Rocher Christmas tree, place a star ornament on the very top. You can get creative by crafting a star from a pineapple slice or a cheddar cheese block if you don’t have an ornament.
Your sweet Ferrero Rocher Christmas tree is now ready to dazzle your holiday guests. Showcase it as a centrepiece on your festive table. To enjoy, simply pluck off the chocolates one by one and savour the luxurious combination of chocolate and hazelnut.
Creating a Ferrero Rocher Christmas tree is not only a treat for your taste buds but also a delightful sight to behold. It’s a perfect way to infuse your holiday celebrations with a touch of decadence and creativity. Share the sweetness, share the joy, and have a very merry and indulgent holiday season!
