This Ham & Cheese Christmas Tree is easier to make than you might expect. You just need 5 ingredients to make it and 5-10 minutes to put it together. It’s a great pull-apart appetizer! Or, if you’re looking for something sweet instead, just fill it with Nutella / hazelnut spread.
Ingredients
- 1800 g rolled puff pastry
- 4 Tbsp ketchup
- 6 cheese slices (150-200 g)
- 6 white pork ham slices (150-200 g)
- 1 beaten egg
Directions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll out one puff pastry sheet into a large rectangle directly on the parchment paper.
Spread 4 tablespoons of ketchup on half of the rectangle.
Place the cheese slices over the ketchup. Then, arrange the pork ham slices over.
Take the other half of the puff pastry rectangle and place it over the ham.
Cut the puff pastry into the shape of a Christmas tree (triangle). Remove the excess pastry.
Cut branches into the sides of the triangle. Then, twist the branches.
Cut the tree trunk and a star out of the excess pastry. Place them at the bottom and top of the tree.
Brush the whole tree with beaten egg.
Bake the ham & cheese Christmas tree in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
