Just wanted to wish our lovely Dada a very happy birthday! You are an amazing person and we love you so so so much!
His Birthday Cake was similar to our New Year’s Eve one– a walnut cake filled with a delicious chocolate walnut cream. The only difference is that I added a touch of elegance with some chocolate-covered pretzel sticks and some whipped cream.
After you’ve made the cake, filled it and poured the chocolate glaze over as directed in my recipe you should end up with something like this…
Then you need about 27 chocolate dipped pretzel sticks (finger thick ones).
I cut the pretzels in two and started placing them around the cake with the cut end down. Cut them gently as they break easily!
Just continue until you’re done covering the side of the cake.
For the last touch, I took a few tablespoons of whipped cream and made some circles (with my shaky hands) using a piping bag fitted with a #4 round tip. Then I just took a toothpick and starting from the outer circle I “dragged” the web in moving the toothpick to the inner circle.
