This Roasted Peppers & Feta Dip is a crowd favourite at any gathering. The dip is made with just a handful of ingredients, including roasted red peppers, tangy feta cheese, and zesty lemon juice. It’s perfect for dipping with pita bread, pita chips, crackers, or veggies.
Beans with Roasted Peppers and Onions
Everyone knows that beans are super nutritious, high in fiber and antioxidants and are a great substitute for meat. We eat dried beans regularly but a few months ago we ate them more than usual as George followed a slow carb diet which focused a lot on lean proteins, legumes and vegetables. He read about […]

Marinated Red Pimento Peppers (Gogosari in Otet)
Making marinated red pimento peppers has been a tradition in my family for as long as I can remember. As I was browsing through my parents old canning books a few weeks ago, I found out that peppers are best preserved in vinegar diluted to 3% acidity. So for 1l 9% vinegar you have to […]
Assorted Pickles (Muraturi Asortate)
I miss so much the assorted pickles my dad used to make back home that this year I have decided to try out his recipe. I know it’s a little late in the year but they should be ready in time for the Christmas feast :). I wish I had some green tomatoes (gogonele) to […]
Sweet and Sour Fish Kebabs
This is a great way to prepare flavourful fish kebabs. Adding pineapple is a twist to the traditional way of making kebabs that I’m used to from back home. I bet my parents won’t like this recipe but I shall try making this next time they visit us from Romania. Back home most people don’t […]
Roasted Vegetables
I’ve made roasted vegetables many times but never took the time to find an actual recipe. I would always make this in a hurry by adding some salt, pepper, olive oil and thyme over the vegetables and then roast them for half an hour or so. Today however, I have decided to search for some […]
Niçoise Salad
The first time I tried Niçoise salad was this spring during our honeymoon, while wandering on the streets of Nice. The vibrant and colourful contrast of green beans, hard-boiled eggs, tomatoes, olives and other veggies combined with the chunks of tuna fish make this recipe a very appealing meal regardless of the season. I have never tried to make it at home … until today. I must say the result was an amazing, delicious and healthy meal!
