This recipe is for all chicken wing lovers out there :). Sesame Chicken Wings are great as an appetizer for parties. Add your favourite side dish (celery & carrots sticks, salad, coleslaw, mashed potatoes, French fries) and you can also serve them as the main course. They are so good that you just can’t have enough of them!
Time: 70 min, Prep: 20 min. Cook: 50 min.
Servings: 6-8
Ingredients:
- 1.5 kg chicken wings
- 12 Tbsp soy sauce
- 8 Tbsp water
- 4 Tbsp honey
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- ½ medium-sized onion
- 5-6 green onions
- 1-2 garlic cloves
- Pepper
- 3 Tbsp sesame seeds
Directions:
Wash chicken wings and cut off the tips. You can save the chicken wing tips to make chicken stock for later use. Cut each wing in half at the joint.
Chop onion and green onions and mince garlic clove(s).
In a large bowl combine soy sauce, water, honey, sesame oil and a dash of pepper. Add chopped onions and garlic and toss to combine.
Add chicken wings to sauce, stirring to coat well. Cover with a foil wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight).
Discard the marinade and roll each wing in sesame seeds, coating well.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Arrange the wings in a single layer in a large baking pan, lightly greased.
Bake for 50 minutes until tender and cooked through, turning over once.
