Whether it’s pork, chicken or shrimp teriyaki, we love this easy-to-make and tasty meal.  However, I must admit this is the very first time I’m trying to make pork teriyaki at home. I’ve looked at several recipes and in the end I came up with the version below. It turned out excellent! I just loved how all the flavours blended together.  We served it with steamed rice.

Time: 35 min, Prep: 20 min.  Cook: 15 min.
Servings: 4                   

Ingredients:

• 3 Tbsp teriyaki sauce
• 1 Tbsp chili sauce
• 2 Tbsp corn flour
• 10 Tbsp peanut oil
• 400 g pork loin
• 6 spring onions
• 2 cloves garlic
• 1.5 tsp grated ginger
• 2 carrots
• 200 g green beans (use snake beans if you have)

Directions:

Combine teriyaki and chili sauce, corn flour and 1 tablespoon of water into a small bowl. Set aside.

Thinly slice the pork.  Trim and cut green beans in half.

Cut the onions on the diagonal and julienne carrots.

Heat a wok and add 2 tablespoon of peanut oil. Add half of the pork and stir-fry for 3 minutes, or until browned. Remove. Repeat with the remaining pork.

Heat the remaining peanut oil and add the spring onions, minced garlic and ginger. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes.

Then add the carrots and beans and stir-fry for 3 more minutes. Return the pork to the wok.

Add the stir-fry sauce and cook for 2-3 more minutes, or until the meat is tender and the vegetables are just cooked.

Serve with steamed rice or noodles.
