Quench your thirst with a glass of all-natural Pineapple Lemonade. This delightful blend of fresh pineapple and zesty lemon juice is the perfect way to cool down on a hot summer day. Unlike store-bought versions, this homemade recipe ensures that you enjoy the purest flavours without any artificial additives.
Ingredients
- 1 medium-sized pineapple, peeled and chopped
- juice from 4-5 lemons
- 200 g (1 cup) granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 960 ml (4 cups) water
- ice cubes
- fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
Here’s how you can easily cut a pineapple:
Directions
In a blender, puree the chopped pineapple until smooth. If desired, strain the puree to remove any fibrous bits.
Juice the lemons and strain the juice to remove any seeds or pulp. You should have approximately 240 ml (1 cup) of lemon juice.
In a saucepan, combine the pineapple puree, lemon juice, sugar, and 480 ml (2 cups) of water. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring continuously until the sugar is completely dissolved. This will create a pineapple lemon syrup. Remove the foamy scum that forms on top.
Remove the syrup from the heat and let it cool.
In a pitcher, combine the remaining 480 ml (2 cups) of water and the syrup. Stir well to combine.
Place the pitcher in the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 1 hour to allow the flavours to meld together.
When ready to serve, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the pineapple lemonade over the ice.
Optionally, garnish each glass with a pineapple wedge and a sprig of fresh mint.
Enjoy your refreshing, all-natural Pineapple Lemonade!
