Cava cocktails are cocktails that incorporate cava, a sparkling wine from Spain. Cava is the top traditional drink in Barcelona and it’s made using the traditional method used for Champagne. It is a popular drink for celebrations and special occasions, and it is often enjoyed as an aperitif before a meal. Cava has a crisp and refreshing flavour profile, with notes of citrus and apple, making it an excellent base for cocktails. Here’s a simple Cava Cocktail recipe that our family and friends love.
Ingredients
- 1 bottle of Cava
- 120 ml (1 cup) orange juice
- 120 ml (1 cup) pineapple juice
- 120 ml (1 cup) cranberry juice
- 30 ml (1/4 cup) triple sec
- 30 ml (1/4 cup) freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 orange, sliced
- 200 g (1.5 cups) strawberries, sliced
- fresh fruit for garnish (such as strawberries, orange slices, or pineapples)
Instructions
In a large pitcher, combine the orange juice, pineapple juice, cranberry juice, triple sec, and lemon juice.
Stir the mixture until well combined.
Add the bottle of Cava and gently stir to combine.
Add the sliced orange and strawberries.
Cover your pitcher with plastic wrap and refrigerate it for 15-30 minutes to allow the fruits to infuse. You can serve it right away as well but it’s much more flavourful if you set it aside for a bit.
Serve the Cava cocktail over ice and garnish with fresh fruit, if desired.
Enjoy!
