Caprese Salad is a simple and classic Italian dish that consists of fresh mozzarella, ripe tomatoes, and basil, topped with a drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. This is the traditional version of the salad.
The salad is named after the island of Capri, where it is believed to have originated. Capri is a beautiful and historic island located off the coast of Italy, in the Gulf of Naples. Capri has a rich history that dates back to ancient Roman times. The island was a popular destination for wealthy Roman elites and was known for its luxury villas and beautiful gardens. We visited Capri last spring and it was fabulous! If you go there you should definitely take a boat tour and enjoy the views of Faraglioni di Capri or the Blue Grotto.
The secret to a perfect Caprese salad revealed in this video ☺️:

One of the most famous sights on Capri is the Blue Grotto, a sea cave that is illuminated by an underwater light, creating a stunning blue glow. You can take a small boat tour to experience the Blue Grotto’s beauty up close.
