If you’re craving something sweet and chocolaty try this Chocolate Banana Smoothie recipe. It’s a creamy and indulgent treat that is also packed with nutrients. It’s also a quick and easy snack or breakfast option that you can make in minutes. Give it a try and let me know how you like it!
Ingredients
- 2 ripe bananas, sliced and frozen
- 1 cup milk (or almond milk)
- 1 cup frozen milk cubes/spheres (or replace this with 4-5 big ice cubes)
- 4 Tbsp cocoa powder
- 4 Tbsp honey (or more, to taste)
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- toppings: extra chocolate, extra banana slices, chocolate coconut chips, cacao nibs
These ingredients will make two smoothies.
Directions
Add the milk, cocoa powder, honey, and vanilla extract to a blender. Blend it a bit.
Add the frozen milk or ice cubes and frozen banana slices and blend until smooth.
I like using frozen milk rather than ice as the smoothie is creamier.
Taste and add more honey if needed.
Pour the smoothie into glasses and enjoy!
You can also add ingredients such as protein powder, peanut butter, or yogurt to make your smoothie more filling and nutritious. If you want to make your smoothie thicker, add more ice or frozen banana. If you want to make it thinner, add more milk.
Top the chocolate banana smoothie with extra chocolate, extra banana slices, chocolate coconut chips, cacao nibs.
Enjoy!
